Write a letter
Reconnect with an old friend, and do things the slow way for once. Pour your heart out to a childhood friend or faraway family member and get a chance to reflect on your own life recently as you do so. Having to sum up what has been happening while keeping a positive presentation may also help your own outlook if you've been having problems lately. Remind your friend why they are important to you and of memories which you've shared. Then you can feel excited waiting for their letter of reply!
Take a walk outside
Relax with a gentle stroll under the cool shade of trees in your neighbourhood, take a detour to a park, go alone, as a couple, with a friend or take your dog for a walk. This is a favourite activity for many people living in places of natural beauty, and can really be a good way to unwind. You will have plenty of time by yourself to think over your day or to take a fresh approach to problems. If you are having motivational problems, taking a break might be a good way to refresh your mind. Stroll along a moving body of water, scatter some autumn leaves, or you could even enjoy the sights of your town. If you live in a crowded urban area, don't give up! A good walking route may still be found. Do you know of an area with many nice gardens, or even a cemetery might do if you don't find it too creepy!
